A contemporary line print silk komon kimono with a lovely patchwork of traditional motifs.
This modern komon (small print) design has an all-over print of simplified traditional motifs - mansions, waves, plum & peony blossoms, maple leaves and geometric patterns in crimson with apple green and caramel highlights.
The kimono has an off-white silk inner and lilac coloured silk hakkake (the inner cuff and hem of the lining).
Komon, literally ko (small) mon (pattern) are casual kimono worn for going out or casual gatherings that often have a small all-over print, but may also have stripes, checks or larger all over patterns.
